AN ACT making an appropriation to the Interim Finance Committee for certain contractual services related to the financial reporting of school districts and charter schools; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

   Section 1. 1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general

 fund to the Interim Finance Committee the sum of $304,127 to continue

 the contractual services for a consultant to carry out a financial analysis

 model program in:

   (a) Each school district; and

   (b) The charter schools selected for participation by the Interim Finance

 Committee,

that is designed to track educational expenditures and revenues to

 individual schools and to provide for uniformity in financial reporting

 among school districts and charter schools.

   2.  The Department of Education, each school district and each charter

 school that is selected for participation by the Interim Finance Committee

 shall provide such information as is necessary for the consultant to carry

 out his duties pursuant to subsection 1.

   3.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to

 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

 been made.

   Sec. 2.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
