AN ACT making appropriations to the Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission for an analysis of job tasks and a study of physical fitness validation for peace officers and to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety for various information technology upgrades; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1-1 Section. 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general
1-2 fund to the Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission the sum of
1-3 $50,000 for an analysis of job tasks and a study of physical fitness
1-4 validation for peace officers.
1-5 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
1-6 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to
1-7 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
1-8 been made.
1-9 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund
1-10 to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety the sum of
1-11 $562,569 to fund a share of the cost of the National Crime Information
1-12 Center’s 2000 upgrade, Windows 2000 and the public safety database.
1-13 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
1-14 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to
1-15 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
1-16 been made.
2-1 Sec. 3. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund
2-2 to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety the sum of
2-3 $442,019 to fund a share of the cost of the National Crime Information
2-4 Center’s 2000 upgrade, Windows 2000 and the public safety database.
2-5 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
2-6 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to
2-7 the state highway fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
2-8 been made.
2-9 Sec. 4. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
