AN ACT making appropriations to the Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission for an analysis of job tasks and a study of physical fitness validation for peace officers and to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety for various information technology upgrades; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN

SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

   Section. 1.  1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general

 fund to the Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission the sum

 of $50,000 for an analysis of job tasks and a study of physical fitness

 validation for peace officers.

   2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to

 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

 been made.

   Sec. 2.  1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund

 to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety the sum of

 $562,569 to fund a share of the cost of the National Crime Information

 Center’s 2000 upgrade, Windows 2000 and the public safety database.

   2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to

 the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

 been made.

   Sec. 3.  1.  There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund

 to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety the sum of

 $442,019 to fund a share of the cost of the National Crime Information

 Center’s 2000 upgrade, Windows 2000 and the public safety database.

   2.  Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1

 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2003, and reverts to

 the state highway fund as soon as all payments of money committed have

 been made.

   Sec. 4.  This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
