The Assembly Committee on Commerce met in the Assembly Chambers at the desk of Chairman Porter on May 4, 1993, at 11:20 a.m.  A two-thirds majority was present.  The Chairman called for motions for committee introduction of the following bill draft requests:

 

BDR 57-1585Clarifies that coverage for medical expenses under policy of motor vehicle insurance is primary.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN PERKINS MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF

      BDR 57-1585.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GIUNCHIGLIANI SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

BDR 57-1710Makes various changes relating to regulation of insurance.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN BENNETT MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF

      BDR 57-1710.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

BDR 22-1985Establishes monetary cap for certain impact fees and expands uses of impact fees.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GIUNCHIGLIANI MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION

      OF BDR 22-1985.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN AUGUSTINE SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

BDR 57-963  Requires specified insurers who do not pay approved claim relating to certain policies, contracts or plans of insurance within statutory period to pay full amount of claim without specified discounts or deductions.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN BENNETT MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF

      BDR 57-963.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

BDR 54-993  Permits accountants to practice as limited-liability company.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN HELLER MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF

      BDR 54-993.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN KENNY SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
