      ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON COMMERCE

 

      Sixty-seventh Session

The Assembly Committee on Commerce met in the Assembly Chambers at the desk of Chairman Porter on June 24, 1993, at 2:40 p.m.  A two-thirds majority was present.  The Chairman called for a motion on the following bills.

 

AB 558      Regulates business for repair of motor vehicles.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN WILLIAMS MOVED AMEND AND DO PASS.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GIUNCHIGLIANI SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED, WITH ASSEMBLYMEN SCHERER, AUGUSTINE AND HELLER VOTING NO.

 

 

AB 756      Authorizes licensure of banks by commissioner or financial institutions to sell annuities.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER MOVED DO PASS.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN BONAVENTURA SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED, WITH ASSEMBLYMEN GIUNCHIGLIANI AND WILLIAMS VOTING NO, AND ASSEMBLYMAN HELLER ABSTAINING.
