      ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON COMMERCE

 

      Sixty-seventh Session

The Assembly Committee on Commerce was called to order by Chairman Gene T. Porter at 3:36 p.m., Monday, April 12, 1993, in Room 332 of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  Exhibit A is the Meeting Agenda, Exhibit B is the Attendance Roster.

ASSEMBLY BILL 241Prospectively increases number of semester hours required for certification as certified public accountant. 

Chairman Porter inquired whether anyone present wished to testify in opposition to AB 241 and received no response.  Chairman Porter called for a motion on AB 241.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER MOVED DO PASS AB 241.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN HUMKE SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY BY ALL THOSE PRESENT;      ASSEMBLYMAN PERKINS WAS ABSENT AT THE TIME OF THE VOTE.

 

Chairman Porter called for a motion for committee introduction of the following bill draft requests:

 

BDR 43-1776Makes various changes regarding manufactured              homes, mobile homes and similar structures.

 

BDR 22-1777Makes various changes relating to land use planning with respect to manufactured homes.

 

BDR 43-1774Makes various changes concerning mobile and manufactured homes.

 

BDR 32-1775Establishes procedure whereby certain mobile homes may be converted from real to personal property for purpose of taxation.

 

BDR 43-1692Establishes system for verifying that owners of motor vehicles maintain mandatory proof of financial responsibility.

 

BDR 9-1831  Provides mechanics' lien on land and improvements for services of engineer, land surveyor or geologist.

 

BDR 54-1369Makes various changes related to collection agencies.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN AUGUSTINE MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF

      BDR 43-1776, BDR 22-1777, BDR 43-1774, BDR 32-1775,

      BDR 43-1692, BDR 9-1831 AND BDR 54-1369.

     

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

There being no further business before the committee, Chairman Porter adjourned the meeting.
