The Assembly Committee on Education was called to order by Chairman Wendell P. Williams at 12:35 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 1993, at his desk on the Assembly floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.

SENATE BILL 322 -Regulates university foundations.
Chairman Williams announced there was a conflict between SB 322 and AB 365; however, there was an amendment being drafted which would resolve the conflict.
Chairman Williams requested committee action on the following bills:
ASSEMBLY BILL 217 - Requires postsecondary educational institution not licensed to operate in this state to be accredited before agent of institution may be granted agent's permit.
ASSEMBLYMAN CHOWNING MOVED TO DO PASS AB 217.
ASSEMBLYMAN GREGORY SECONDED THE MOTION.
THE MOTION PASSED WITH ASSEMBLYMAN HALLER VOTING NO.
SENATE BILL 391 -Makes various changes concerning surety bonds required of private postsecondary educational institutions.
ASSEMBLYMAN SEGERBLOM MOVED TO DO PASS SB 391.
ASSEMBLYMAN CHOWNING SECONDED THE MOTION.
THE MOTION PASSED WITH ASSEMBLYMEN HALLER, SCHNEIDER, AND GREGORY VOTING NO.
