      ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS AND PROCEDURES

 

      Sixty-seventh Session

The Assembly Committee on Elections and Procedures met in the Assembly Chambers at the desk of Chairman Myrna Williams on February 22, 1993, at 11:15 a.m., for the purpose of considering the introduction of the following bill draft requests.  A two thirds majority was present.

 

      BDR 24-1743:      Eliminates provision establishing different date for close of voter registration in certain counties

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN HUMKE MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF THE BILL DRAFT REQUEST.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      MOTION CARRIED.

 

      BDR R-1746  Memorializes tennis great Arthur Ashe

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN HUMKE MOVED FOR COMMITTEE INTRODUCTION OF THE BILL DRAFT REQUEST.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      MOTION CARRIED.

 

      BDR 24-789  Authorizes nonpartisan voter to vote for candidates of major political party in primary election under certain circumstances

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN GARNER MOVED TO INTRODUCE THE BILL DRAFT REQUEST.

 

      ASSEMBLYMAN SCHERER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      MOTION CARRIED.

 

There being no further business to come before the Committee, Chairman Williams adjourned the meeting at 11:40 a.m.
