ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS

The Assembly Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by Chairman Morse Arberry, Jr., at 8:19 a.m., on Monday, April 19, 1993, in Room 352 of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. EXHIBIT A is the Meeting Agenda. EXHIBIT B is the Attendance Roster.

Chairman Arberry stated there will be joint budget closings with the Senate Finance Committee in Room 119 at 9:30 a.m. He provided the committee with procedural instructions for joint closings. He requested any committee members who strongly disagree with the consensus vote to please discuss it with him prior to joint hearings. He emphasized the Ways and Means Committee works as a team effort when in joint hearings.
Chairman Arberry indicated the Senate Finance committee has closed 50 budgets and three have been closed differently from the Ways and Means Committee. The three accounts are: Taxicab Authority, Carey Act - Trust Fund, and Heil Wild Horse Request. He pointed out only budgets which were closed differently by each committee will be discussed in joint hearings.
Chairman Arberry requested committee members to keep their afternoon calendars free and put on their running shoes because committee meetings will be held both mornings and afternoons starting next week.
Chairman Arberry adjourned the hearing at 8:29 a.m.
