The Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor was called to order by Chairman Randolph Townsend, at 3:50 p.m., on Thursday, July 1, 1993, on the Senate floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Meeting Agenda.  There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Townsend opened discussion on proposed Amendment No. 1355 to Senate Bill (S.B.) 523.

 

 

SENATE BILL 523:  Makes various changes relating to homeopathic physicians.  (BDR 54-2028)

 

 

      SENATOR BROWN MOVED TO AMEND AND DO PASS S.B. 523 WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1355.

 

      SENATOR SHAFFER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

The chairman asked for a motion to amend Senate Bill (S.B.) 522 with Amendment No. 1032.

 

 

SENATE BILL 522:  Prohibits certain providers of health care under specified circumstances from referring patient to health care facility in which provider of health care has financial interest.  (BDR 40-2107)

 

 

      SENATOR NEVIN MOVED TO AMEND AND DO PASS S.B. 522 WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1032.

 

      SENATOR SHAFFER SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Chairman Townsend opened discussion on Assembly Bill (A.B.) 764.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 764:      Makes various changes to statutes governing credit service organizations.  (BDR 52-2057)

 

 

      SENATOR BROWN MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 764.

 

      SENATOR O'CONNELL SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

The Chairman asked for a motion on Assembly Bill (A.B.) 480.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 480:      Makes various changes related to collection agencies.  (BDR 54-1369)

 

      SENATOR O'CONNELL MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 480.

 

      SENATOR BROWN SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
