The Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor was called to order by Vice Chairman Suzanne (Sue) Lowden, at 3:26 p.m., on Friday,

July 2, 1993, on the Senate floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Meeting Agenda.  There was no Attendance Roster.

Vice Chairman Lowden outlined the proposed changes in Amendment No. 1359 to Senate Bill (S.B.) 555 and requested a motion.

 

SENATE BILL 555:  Exempts corporations that provide prepaid ambulance services from regulation by commissioner of insurance under certain circumstances.  (BDR 57-1999)

 

      SENATOR NEVIN MOVED TO CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1359

      TO S.B. 555.

 

      SENATOR McGINNESS SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATOR TOWNSEND WAS ABSENT FOR

      THE VOTE.)

The vice chairman requested comments regarding Amendment No. 1345 to S.B. 398.

 

 

SENATE BILL 398:  Provides for regulation of cemeteries and crematories.  (BDR 40-1371)

 

      SENATOR McGINNESS MOVED TO CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1345

      TO S.B. 398.

 

      SENATOR BROWN SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATOR TOWNSEND WAS ABSENT FOR

      THE VOTE.)

ASSEMBLY BILL 513:      Makes various changes relating to practice of physical therapy. (BDR 54-617)

 

Following a brief discussion, Vice Chairman Lowden requested a motion on A.B. 513.

 

 

      SENATOR BROWN MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 513.

 

      SENATOR O'CONNELL SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATOR TOWNSEND WAS ABSENT FOR

      THE VOTE.)
