The Senate Committee on Human Resources and Facilities was called to order by Chairman Raymond D. Rawson, at 11:50 a.m., on Friday, July 2, 1993, on the Senate floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Meeting Agenda.  There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Rawson opened the floor hearing on Assembly Bill (A.B.) 193.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 193:      Provides for registration and investigation of homes providing certain health care to not more than two persons.

 

Pepper Sturm, Research Analyst gave to the committee Work Session (Exhibit A).

 

      SENATOR COFFIN MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 193.

 

      SENATOR GLOMB SECONDED THE MOTION.

Chairman Rawson opened the hearing on Senate Bill (S.B.) 91 and presented Amendment No. 1198 to the committee.

 

 

SENATE BILL 91:   Allows school-based decision making in public schools.

 

      SENATOR NEAL MOVED TO CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1198 OF S.B. 91.

 

      SENATOR GLOMB SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATORS O'DONNELL, TOWNSEND AND BROWN WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)

Chairman Rawson opened the hearing on Senate Bill 354 and presented Amendment No. 1325 and No. 1326.

 

SENATE BILL 354:  Prohibits corporal punishment in public and private schools.

 

      SENATOR GLOMB MOVED TO DO NOT CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1326 OF S.B. 354.

 

      SENATOR NEAL SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATORS TOWNSEND AND BROWN WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)

      SENATOR NEAL MOVED TO CONCUR WITH AMENDMENT NO. 1325 OF S.B. 354.
