The Senate Committee on Human Resources and Facilities was called to order by Chairman Raymond D. Rawson, at 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 1, 1993, on the Senate floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Meeting Agenda.  There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Rawson opened the floor hearing on Assembly Bill (A.B.) 427. 

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 427:      Prohibits pupils from carrying or possessing electronic devices used for paging or communication while on school grounds.  (BDR 34-1526)

 

 

      SENATOR GLOMB MOVED TO DO NOT RECEDE ON A.B. 427.

 

      SENATOR BROWN SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATORS O'DONNELL, TOWNSEND AND COFFIN       WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)

Chairman Rawson opened the hearing on A.B. 790.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 790:      Revises provisions of Assembly Bill No. 543, of this session, concerning school property.  (BDR S-2191)

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 543:      Makes various changes relating to construction, alteration or repair of school by school district.  (BDR 34-1915)

 

Pepper Sturm, Research Analyst, presented a work session document (Exhibit A) for the committee to review.  He briefly explained this measure was requested to correct a technical error in the earlier bill. 

 

      SENATOR GLOMB MOVED TO DO PASS A.B. 790.

 

      SENATOR BROWN SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATORS O'DONNELL, TOWNSEND AND COFFIN       WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)
