The Senate Committee on Transportation was called to order by Chairman William R. O'Donnell, at 12:02 p.m., on Saturday, June 19, 1993, on the Senate floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Meeting Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman O'Donnell convened the meeting to discuss Assembly Bill (A.B.) 499.
Assembly Bill 499: Revises penalties for driving under influence of intoxicating liquor or controlled substance.
Chairman O'Donnell explained a proposed amendment to the bill and asked for a motion.
SENATOR HICKEY MOVED TO AMEND A.B. 499 AND RE-REFER TO THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION.
SENATOR NEVIN SECONDED THE MOTION.
THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

Chairman O'Donnell then discussed Senate Bill (S.B.) 452. The committee agreed to an amendment which would limit the sale of the license plates to students and alumni. Chairman O'Donnell asked for a motion on the bill.
Senate Bill 452: Authorizes department of motor vehicles and public safety to issue collegiate license plates.
SENATOR NEVIN MOVED TO AMEND AND DO PASS S.B. 452.
SENATOR HICKEY SECONDED THE MOTION.
THE MOTION CARRIED. (SENATOR BROWN VOTED NO.)

Chairman O'Donnell then discussed Senate Bill (S.B.) 497. The committee agreed on an amendment that would restrict the sale of the license plates to veterans and their families. Chairman O'Donnell asked for a motion on the bill.
Senate Bill 497: Provides for issuance of special plates in support of veterans' home.
SENATOR NEVIN MOVED TO AMEND AND DO PASS S.B. 497.
SENATOR HICKEY SECONDED THE MOTION.
THE MOTION CARRIED. (SENATORS BROWN AND JAMES VOTED NO.)

There being no further business before the committee, Chairman O'Donnell adjourned the meeting at 12:10 p.m.
