      SENATE COMMITTEE ON TAXATION

 

      Sixty-seventh Session

The Senate Committee on Taxation was called to order by Chairman Dean A. Rhoads, at 12:18 p.m., on Friday, July 2, 1993, in Room 227 of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada.  There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Rhoads discussed Assembly Bill (A.B.) 699.

 

ASSEMBLY BILL 699:      Authorizes imposition of tax for libraries that is exempt from limits on revenue upon approval by voters.

 

Senator Mike McGinness, Central Nevada Senatorial District, and the members of the committee who were present, agreed A.B. 699 must be amended to include a "vote of the people."

 

Chairman Rhoads called for a motion to amend and do pass A.B. 699.

 

      SENATOR SHAFFER MOVED TO AMEND AND DO PASS A.B. 699.

 

      SENATOR TOWNSEND SECONDED THE MOTION.

 

      THE MOTION CARRIED.  (SENATORS COFFIN, O'CONNELL AND ADLER WERE ABSENT FOR THE VOTE.)

Chairman Rhoads adjourned the meeting at 12:30 p.m.
