ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION--Encouraging working parents to 
        participate fully in the lives of their children including 
        spending time with their children, becoming involved with the 
        education of their children and participating in school-
        related activities.


  WHEREAS, Parental involvement in the lives of 
their children at home, at play and in school-related 
activities has long been considered of utmost importance in 
child development and in the establishment of self-esteem 
and pride in children; and
  WHEREAS, There is a local, state and national 
awareness of the need for increased parent and community 
involvement in the education of our nation's youth; and
  WHEREAS, The education of the youth of Nevada 
and our nation is a primary concern of the citizens of 
Nevada and the United States; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, THE 
SENATE CONCURRING, That working parents recognize that 
they have a responsibility to participate fully in the lives 
of their children; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That working parents are strongly 
encouraged to spend as much time as possible with their 
children at home, at play and at school; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That working parents are strongly 
encouraged to involve themselves in the education of their 
children and to participate in as many school activities as 
possible; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly 
prepare and transmit a copy of this resolution to every 
school district in Nevada for dissemination to local 
chapters of the Nevada Parent-Teacher Association and other 
parent-teacher organizations.
