SUMMARY--Provides for recognition of certain 
          associations that represent state

ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION--Providing for the recognition of 
        certain associations that represent state employees.


  WHEREAS, A substantial number of state 
employees are voluntary members of various employee 
organizations; and
  WHEREAS, These various organizations should be 
recognized as representatives of its members to preserve and 
advance their interests as state employees; now, therefore, 
be it
  RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, THE 
SENATE CONCURRING, That the State of Nevada, the 
Department of Administration, the Department of Personnel 
and the various state agencies shall recognize the following 
organizations as representatives of their members for 
purposes of discussing conditions of employment, hours and 
wages, while at the same time preserving the right of state 
employees who are not members of such organizations to speak 
for themselves, until such time as a collective bargaining 
law may be enacted to provide for the formal recognition of 
representatives through employee elections:
    Communication Workers of America, AFL-CIO
    Nevada Corrections Association/SEIU Local 1864C
    Nevada Highway Patrol Association
    Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3, AFL-CIO
    Operating Engineers Local Union No. 12, AFL-CIO
    Protective Association of Gaming Enforcement
    Service Employees International Union Local 1864, 
    AFL-CIO
    State of Nevada Employees Association
    University of Nevada Police Association
    
And be it further
  RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly 
prepare and transmit a copy of this resolution to the 
directors of the Department of Administration and the 
Department of Personnel.
