SUMMARY--Directs Legislative Commission to conduct 
          interim study of effects of reorganization 
          of executive department of state 
          government. (BDR R-1397)

ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION--Directing the Legislative Commission 
        to conduct an interim study of the effects of the 
        reorganization of the executive department of state 
        government.


  WHEREAS, The provisions of Assembly Bill No. 
782, which was passed by the 67th session of the Nevada 
Legislature, reorganized the administrative structure and 
division of power within the executive department of state 
government; and
  WHEREAS, The potential effects of the 
reorganization of the executive department are very broad 
and need to be examined and evaluated; and
  WHEREAS, The Legislature wishes to study the 
effects that the reorganization of the executive department 
has had on the operation and the budget of state government; 
now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, THE 
SENATE CONCURRING, That the Legislative Commission is 
hereby directed to conduct an interim study of the effects 
of the reorganization of the executive department of state 
government; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That the study must include:
  1.  A review and comparison of the structure and budget of 
the executive department before and after the 
reorganization;
  2.  An examination and evaluation of the effects of the 
creation of the office of internal audits; and
  3.  An inquiry into any other issues related to the 
effects of the reorganization which the Legislative 
Commission determines are appropriate; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That the Legislative Commission 
report the results of the study and any recommended 
legislation to the 69th session of the Nevada Legislature.
