The Subcommittee on Judiciary was called to order at 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 11, 1999. Chairman Bernie Anderson presided in Room 3138 of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. Exhibit A is the Agenda. Exhibit B is the Guest List. All Exhibits are available and on file at the Research Library of the Legislative Counsel Bureau.

Assembly Bill 315: Makes various changes regarding adoption of children and protection of children from abuse and neglect in accordance with certain federal requirements. (BDR 11-846)

Testimony was heard on A.B. 315, and Exhibits C and D were submitted for the record.

Assembly Bill 158: Makes various changes in statutory procedures for protection and placement of children. (BDR 11-475)

Testimony was also heard on A.B. 158, and Exhibits E and F were submitted for the record.

After much discussion, the subcommittee determined they would recommend certain provisions of A.B. 315 be incorporated into A.B. 158 with some amendments to the existing provisions of A.B. 158. They would then recommend that the committee on judiciary amend and do pass A.B. 158.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
