The Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor was called to order by Chairman Randolph J. Townsend, at 10:27 p.m., on Sunday, May 30, 1999, on the Senate Floor of the Legislative Building, Carson City, Nevada. There was no Agenda. There was no Attendance Roster.

Chairman Townsend asked the committee to consider Senate Bill 557.

BILL SENATE 557: Requires certain policies of health insurance to include coverage for treatment of conditions relating to severe mental illness. (BDR 57-1789)

Pete Ernaut, Chief of Staff, Governor’s Office explained the Governor’s position.

SENATOR AMODEI MOVED TO DO PASS SENATE BILL 557.

SENATOR CARLTON SECONDED THE MOTION.

THE MOTION CARRIED. (SENATOR O’CONNELL VOTED NO.)
