THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. NRS 488.600 is hereby amended to read as follows: 488.600 Every owner, operator or person in command of any vessel is1-3
guilty of a misdemeanor who operates it or permits it to be operated at a1-4
speed in excess of 5 nautical miles per hour in any of the following areas:1-5
1. Within 100 feet of any person who is engaged in the act of bathing1-6

2. Within 200 feet of any:1-8
(a) Beach frequented by1-9
bathing, wading, diving, floating or swimming.1-10
(b) Swimming float, diving platform or lifeline.1-11
(c) Way or landing float to which vessels are made fast or which is used1-12
for the embarkation or discharge of passengers.2-1
Sec. 2. NRS 488.620 is hereby amended to read as follows: 488.620 A person shall not operate a vessel within a water area which2-3
is clearly marked by buoys or some other distinguishing device as2-4

designated for bathing, wading, diving, floating or swimming. Such an2-6
area must be so marked only with the consent of the commission.~
