AN ACT relating to the department of transportation; abolishing the state highway payroll clearing account; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. NRS 408.227 is hereby repealed.

1-2 Sec. 2. The state controller shall, as soon as practicable after July 1,

1-3 1999, transfer any money in the state highway payroll clearing account

1-4 created pursuant to NRS 408.227 which has not been committed for

1-5 expenditure, to the state general fund.

1-6 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 1999.

 

1-7 TEXT OF REPEALED SECTION

 

1-8 408.227 State highway payroll clearing account: Establishment;

1-9 reimbursement; placement in banks.

1-10 1. The state highway payroll clearing account is hereby established to

1-11 pay the payroll of the department. As the payroll warrants are presented to

1-12 the state highway payroll clearing account for payment, the state treasurer

1-13 shall reimburse the state highway payroll clearing account.

2-1 2. The director shall place the state highway payroll clearing account

2-2 in one or more banks of reputable standing which have been approved by

2-3 the state board of finance.
