AN ACT making an appropriation to the University and Community College System of Nevada for a needs assessment and implementation plan for a 4-year state college in Henderson, Nevada; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2 the University and Community College System of Nevada the sum of

1-3 $500,000 for completion of a needs assessment and implementation plan

1-4 for a 4-year state college in Henderson, Nevada.

1-5 Sec. 2. On or before September 1, 2000, the Board of Regents shall

1-6 submit a report of its findings and recommendations relating to the needs

1-7 assessment and implementation plan to:

2-1 1. The Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau for transmittal to the

2-2 71st session of the Nevada Legislature; and

2-3 2. The Director of the Department of Administration.

2-4 Sec. 3. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

2-5 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and

2-6 reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

2-7 committed have been made.

2-8 Sec. 4. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
