THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. NRS 353.228 is hereby amended to read as follows: 353.228 1. The economic forum impaneled pursuant to NRS1-3
353.226 shall:1-4
(a) Make such projections for economic indicators as it deems1-5
necessary to ensure that an accurate estimate is produced pursuant to1-6
paragraph (b);1-7
(b) Provide an accurate estimate of the revenue that will be collected by1-8
the state for general, unrestricted uses, and not for special purposes, during1-9
the biennium that begins on the second July 1 following the date on which1-10
the economic forum was empaneled;1-11
(c) Request such technical assistance as the economic forum deems1-12
necessary from the technical advisory committee created by NRS 353.229;1-13
(d) On or before December 1 of the year in which the economic forum1-14
was empaneled, prepare a written report of its projections of economic1-15
indicators and estimate of future state revenue required by paragraphs (a)1-16
and (b) and present the report to the governor and the legislature; and1-17
(e)1-18
of the year following the year in which the economic forum was2-1
empaneled, prepare a written report confirming or revising the projections2-2
of economic indicators and estimate of future state revenue contained in2-3
the report prepared pursuant to paragraph (d) and present the report to the2-4
governor and the legislature.2-5
2. The economic forum may make preliminary projections of2-6
economic indicators and estimates of future state revenue at any time. Any2-7
such projections and estimates must be made available to the various2-8
agencies of the state through the chief.2-9
3. The economic forum may request information directly from any2-10
state agency. A state agency that receives a reasonable request for2-11
information from the economic forum shall comply with the request as2-12
soon as is reasonably practicable after receiving the request.2-13
4. To carry out its duties pursuant to this section, the economic forum2-14
may consider any information received from the technical advisory2-15
committee and any other information received from independent sources.2-16
5. Copies of the projections and estimates made pursuant to this2-17
section must be made available to the public by the director of the2-18
legislative counsel bureau for the cost of reproducing the material.2-19
Sec. 2. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.~
