AN ACT relating to transportation; requiring the Department of Transportation to assist certain counties in developing a computerized pavement management system; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. 1. The Department of Transportation shall assist each

1-2 county in the State of Nevada whose population is less than 50,000 in

1-3 developing a computerized pavement management system that is similar to

1-4 the system used by the Department.

1-5 2. As used in this section, "computerized pavement management

1-6 system" means a tool that uses a computer to compile data concerning the

1-7 conditions of roadways and the costs of maintaining those roadways to

1-8 assist persons who make decisions concerning those roadways to:

1-9 (a) Establish priorities systematically for projects of construction and

1-10 maintenance;

1-11 (b) Optimize the use of available money; and

1-12 (c) Make informed decisions.
