THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety shall:1-2
1. Conduct a study to determine whether the fees charged for:1-3
(a) Certificates of registration for motor vehicles issued pursuant to1-4
chapter 482 of NRS; and1-5
(b) Drivers’ licenses issued pursuant to chapter 483 of NRS,1-6
are equal to or greater than the costs the Department incurs in administering1-7
the programs for the issuance of certificates of registration and drivers’1-8
licenses; and2-1
2. On or before February 15, 2001, submit a report of the study to the2-2
Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau for transmittal to the 71st2-3
session of the Nevada Legislature.2-4
Sec. 2. This act becomes effective on July 1, 1999.~
