AN ACT making an appropriation to the legislative fund for expenditure by the Closeup Foundation; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2 fund to the legislative fund, created pursuant to NRS 218.085, the sum of

1-3 $10,000 for expenditure by the Closeup Foundation, an organization that

1-4 helps high school pupils attend the Nevada Legislature during the

1-5 legislative session.

1-6 2. Allocations from the appropriation made in subsection 1 must be

1-7 approved by the Legislative Commission upon its acceptance of a proposal

2-1 for the expenditure of money appropriated by subsection 1 by the Closeup

2-2 Foundation.

2-3 Sec. 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

2-4 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and

2-5 reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

2-6 committed have been made.

2-7 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 1999.
