THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Chapter 660 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto1-2
a new section to read as follows:1-3
1. No operator of an automated teller may charge a customer using1-4
the automated teller a surcharge for processing the transaction in1-5
addition to any transaction fee that may be charged by the financial1-6
institution or other business that maintains the customer’s account1-7
unless the surcharge is disclosed:1-8
(a) On a sign posted on or in clear view of the automated teller; and1-9
(b) Electronically during the course of the transaction so as to permit1-10
the customer to cancel the transaction without incurring the surcharge.1-11
2. The disclosure required to be made by subsection 1 must indicate:1-12
(a) The amount of the surcharge; and1-13
(b) That the surcharge is in addition to any transaction fee that may1-14
be charged by the financial institution or other business that maintains1-15
the customer’s account.2-1
Sec. 2. NRS 660.115 is hereby amended to read as follows: 660.115 As used in NRS 660.115 to 660.235, inclusive, and section 12-3
of this act, unless the context otherwise requires, the words and terms2-4
defined in NRS 660.125 to 660.185, inclusive, have the meanings ascribed2-5
to them in those sections.~
