AN ACT making an appropriation to the Registration Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety for the expenses related to the production of license plates; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund

1-2 to the Registration Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles and

1-3 Public Safety the sum of $4,928,923 to be distributed as follows:

1-4 1. For the refurbishing of "blue" license plates, the sum of $430,976;

1-5 2. For the redesign of existing standard license plates, the sum of

1-6 $4,394,701; and

1-7 3. For the production of special license plates for eligible interests

1-8 where applications have exceeded 250, the sum of $103,246.

1-9 Sec. 2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

1-10 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and

1-11 reverts to the state highway fund as soon as all payments of money

1-12 committed have been made.

1-13 Sec. 3. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
