AN ACT making an appropriation to the University and Community College System of Nevada for the Southern Nevada Writing Project and the Northern Nevada Writing Project; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2 fund to the University and Community College System of Nevada for the

1-3 Southern Nevada Writing Project and the Northern Nevada Writing

1-4 Project:

1-5 For the fiscal year 1999-2000 $100,000

1-6 For the fiscal year 2000-2001 $100,000

1-7 2. The money appropriated by subsection 1 must be allocated equally

1-8 between the Southern Nevada Writing Project and the Northern Nevada

1-9 Writing Project for deposit in separate accounts for each project.

1-10 3. Disbursements from these accounts to pay the expenses of the

1-11 projects must be made by the Board of Regents of the University of Nevada

1-12 upon the request of the administrator of the respective project.

2-1 4. The sums appropriated by subsection 1 are available for either fiscal

2-2 year. Any balance of those sums must not be committed for expenditure

2-3 after June 30, 2001, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all

2-4 payments of money committed have been made.

2-5 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
