on the southern Nevada community by empowering unemployed and
under-employed persons to take advantage of the free training programs
that Nevada Partners offers and to become aware of the potential privileges
of sustained employment; and
Whereas, Fundamental to the contract between Nevada Partners and
every client is the agreement that to successfully compete for positions in
the workforce a person must receive sufficient training, and employment in
itself is the means by which each client can achieve self-sufficiency,
independent decision-making, pride and the pursuit of positive values; and
Whereas, Because of its partnership with business, industry and
government, Nevada Partners is able to refer its graduates to valued
positions with sound organizations; and
Whereas, After the successful completion of the Nevada Partners
program, employed graduates are encouraged to "reseed" the community
by engaging in volunteer work that helps others to help themselves; now,
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to2-2
Nevada Partners the sum of $500,000 for the support of programs that help2-3
prepare unemployed and under-employed persons to enter the workforce2-4
and make significant contributions in southern Nevada.2-5
Sec. 2. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.~
