AN ACT relating to recreational areas; authorizing the imposition of a fee upon certain persons who reside in state housing within state parks and other recreational areas; providing that the money raised from such fees may be used only for the repair, maintenance and renovation of such housing; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. Chapter 407 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto

1-2 a new section to read as follows:

1-3 1. The administrator, with the approval of the director, may establish

1-4 and collect a fee from those state employees, volunteers and contractual

1-5 employees who reside in housing owned and maintained by the division

1-6 within the various state parks and recreational areas, for the repair,

1-7 maintenance and renovation of such housing.

1-8 2. All money collected pursuant to this section must be:

1-9 (a) Deposited in the account for maintenance of state parks within the

1-10 division of state parks created in NRS 407.0762;

1-11 (b) Accounted for separately; and

2-1 (c) Used only for the repair, maintenance and renovation of housing

2-2 owned and maintained by the division within the various state parks and

2-3 recreational areas.

2-4 3. The administrator, subject to the approval of the director, may

2-5 expend money pursuant to subsection 2.

2-6 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective on July 1, 1999.
