AN ACT relating to courts; providing that the provisions governing the establishment of a department of family, youth and juvenile services apply to a county whose population is 100,000 or more; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. NRS 62.1262 is hereby amended to read as follows:

1-2 62.1262 1. The provisions of NRS 62.126 to 62.127, inclusive, apply

1-3 only to a county:

1-4 (a) Whose population is [400,000] 100,000 or more; and

1-5 (b) Which constitutes a judicial district.

1-6 2. The provisions of NRS [62.105] 62.103 to 62.123, inclusive, do not

1-7 apply to a judicial district in which a department has been established for

1-8 the period the ordinance establishing the department is in effect.
