THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 201, Statutes of Nevada 1995, at page1-2
339, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2. There is hereby appropriated from the state general1-4
fund to the division of state parks of the state department of1-5
conservation and natural resources:1-6
1. The sum of $1,000,000 for the payment of expenses related1-7
to structural and other improvements to park facilities throughout1-8
the state. The money must be used as follows:1-9
(a) Washoe Lake State Park, Valley of Fire State Park or other1-10
parks or recreation areas, $130,000.1-11
(b) Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, $97,740.1-12
(c) Spring Valley State Park, Valley of Fire State Park or other1-13
parks or recreation areas, $302,600.2-1
(d) Cathedral Gorge State Park, Valley of Fire State Park or2-2
other parks or recreation areas, $30,310.2-3
(e) Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, $281,850.2-4
(f) Valley of Fire State Park, $135,000.2-5
(g) Fort Churchill State Park, $22,500.2-6
2. The sum of $474,270 for new and replacement equipment2-7
for state parks.2-8
3. The sum of $261,469 for equipment for new park facilities at2-9
the Big Bend of the Colorado State Park, the visitor center for state2-10
parks in Lincoln and White Pine counties and maintenance2-11
operations at South Fork State Recreation Area.2-12
Sec. 2. Section 3 of chapter 201, Statutes of Nevada 1995, as amended2-13
by section 5 of chapter 536, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page 2532, is2-14
hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 3. The state controller shall provide for the payment of2-16
claims legally obligated in each fiscal year on behalf of the division2-17
of state parks of the state department of conservation and natural2-18
resources for the purposes set forth:2-19
1. In paragraphs (b) and (e) of subsection 1 and subsections 22-20
and 3 of section 2 of2-21
1995, until the last Friday of August immediately following the end2-22
of fiscal year 1996-97;2-23
2. In paragraphs2-24
section 2 of2-25
the last Friday of August immediately following the end of fiscal2-26
year 1998-992-27
3. In paragraphs (a), (c) and (d) of subsection 1 of section 22-28
of chapter 201, Statutes of Nevada 1995, until the last Friday of2-29
August immediately following the end of fiscal year 2000-01.2-30
Sec. 3. Section 5 of chapter 201, Statutes of Nevada 1995, as amended2-31
by section 6 of chapter 536, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page 2532, is2-32
hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 5. Any remaining balance of the appropriations made by2-34
section 2 of2-35
1. For use as provided in paragraphs (b) and (e) of subsection 12-36
and subsections 2 and 3 of that section, must not be committed for2-37
expenditure after June 30, 1997, and reverts to the state general2-38
fund as soon as all payments of money committed have been made.2-39
2. For use as provided in paragraphs2-40
of subsection 1 of that section, must not be committed for2-41
expenditure after June 30, 1999, and reverts to the state general2-42
fund as soon as all payments of money committed have been made.3-1
3. For use as provided in paragraphs (a), (c) and (d) of3-2
subsection 1 of that section, must not be committed for3-3
expenditure after June 30, 2001, and reverts to the state general3-4
fund as soon as all payments of money committed have been3-5

Sec. 4. Section 1 of chapter 536, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page3-7
2531, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general3-9
fund to the Division of State Parks of the State Department of3-10
Conservation and Natural Resources the sum of $1,566,393 for park3-11
improvement projects. The money must be used as follows:3-12
1. Fort Churchill State Historic Park, $30,000.3-13
2. Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, Valley of Fire State Park or3-14
other parks or recreation areas, $295,603.3-15
3. Spring Valley State Park, $258,338.3-16
4. Big Bend State Recreation Area, $192,191.3-17
5. Valley of Fire State Park, $49,096.3-18
6. Rye Patch State Recreation Area3-19
Ovens State Historic Park, $415,308.3-20
7. Lahontan State Recreation Area, $40,250.3-21
8. Floyd Lamb State Park, Valley of Fire State Park or other3-22

9. To prepare a preliminary master plan to provide direction for3-24
the development and operation of a historic park in Las Vegas,3-25

Sec. 5. Section 2 of chapter 536, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page3-27
2531, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2. The State Controller shall provide for the payment of3-29

Statutes of Nevada 1997, until the last Friday in August3-38
immediately following the end of the fiscal year 2000-01.3-39
Sec. 6. Section 4 of chapter 536, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page3-40
2531, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 4. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by3-42
section 1 of4-1
1. For use as provided in subsections 4, 5, 7 and 9 of that4-2
section must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 1999,4-3
and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of4-4
money committed have been made.4-5
2. For use as provided in subsections 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8 of that4-6
section must not be committed for expenditure after June 30,4-7
2001, and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all4-8
payments of money committed have been made.4-9
Sec. 7. Section 38 of chapter 655, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page4-10
3257, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 38. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state4-12
general fund to the division of state parks of the state department of4-13
conservation and natural resources the sum of $800,000 for4-14
improvements at Mormon Fort State Park.4-15
2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by4-16
subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30,4-17

payments of money committed have been made.4-19
Sec. 8. The state board of finance may issue general obligation bonds4-20
of the State of Nevada in the face amount of not more than $1,535,0264-21
pursuant to the State Securities Law. The bonds issued pursuant to this4-22
section were previously authorized by chapter 785, Statutes of Nevada4-23
1989, at page 1864, and were approved by the voters as question 5 in the4-24
general election of 1990. The division of wildlife of the state department of4-25
conservation and natural resources may expend the proceeds of the bonds4-26
exclusively for the purposes provided in subsection 2 of section 2 of4-27
chapter 785, Statutes of Nevada 1989, at page 1864.4-28
Sec. 9. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.~
