THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. NRS 482.374 is hereby amended to read as follows: 482.374 1.1-3
department shall furnish to each state senator and state assemblyman a1-4
special license plate or plates showing on the face thereof, in the case of the1-5
senators, "State Senator," together with the designated number showing the1-6
seniority of the senator in the senate, and, in the case of the assemblymen,1-7
"State Assemblyman" or "State Assemblywoman," as appropriate, together1-8
with the designated number showing the seniority of the assemblyman in1-9
the assembly. If two or more legislators have the same seniority, the2-1
designated number given to them must be determined according to the2-2
alphabetical order of their last names, except that numbers drawn by lot by2-3
legislators having the same seniority prior to January 1, 1971, must be2-4
maintained in the same sequence.2-5
2. The department shall furnish to each justice of the supreme court a2-6
special license plate or plates showing on the face thereof "Supreme Court2-7
Justice," together with the designated number showing the seniority of the2-8
justice. If two or more justices have the same seniority, the designated2-9
number given to them must be determined according to the alphabetical2-10
order of their last names.2-11
3. The department shall issue the license plates described in this2-12
section and a duplicate set of those plates to the state legislators and2-13
justices of the supreme court upon payment of the license fees set forth in2-14
NRS 482.3745.2-15
Sec. 2. NRS 218.048 is hereby amended to read as follows: 218.048 1. After he leaves office and a successor has been elected or2-17
appointed, it is unlawful for any legislator to:2-18
(a) Use any official stationery or business card acquired pursuant to2-19
NRS 218.225;2-20
(b) Maintain deliberately a listing in any directory, published after that2-21
date, which in any manner indicates that he is presently a legislator; or2-22

vehicle a special legislative license plate furnished pursuant to NRS2-24
482.374.2-25
2. Any person who violates any of the provisions of subsection 1 is2-26
guilty of a misdemeanor.2-27
Sec. 3. 1. The special legislative license plate assigned to Mr. Joseph2-28
E. Dini, Jr., and showing on its face "State Assemblyman 1," is hereby2-29
granted as a lifetime endowment to Mr. Dini, regardless of whether he2-30
continues to serve in the Assembly of this state. This endowment is made in2-31
recognition of his unprecedented length of service as Speaker of the2-32
Assembly.2-33
2. After Mr. Dini completes his service in the Assembly of this state,2-34
the legislators who serve in the Assembly shall be furnished special2-35
legislative license plates in such a manner that the member of the Assembly2-36
who has the greatest seniority will be furnished a plate showing on its face2-37
"State Assemblyman 2" or "State Assemblywoman 2," as appropriate, and2-38
the remaining members of the Assembly must be furnished special2-39
legislative license plates in the manner set forth in subsection 1 of NRS2-40
482.374.2-41
Sec. 4. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.~
