THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Chapter 333 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto1-2
a new section to read as follows:1-3
Each person who is authorized pursuant to the provisions of this1-4
chapter to enter into any contract on behalf of this state shall ensure that1-5
the contract is reduced to writing and signed by each party to the1-6
contract.1-7
Sec. 2. NRS 225.070 and 239.040 are hereby repealed.1-8
Sec. 3. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.

TEXT OF REPEALED SECTIONS225.070 Custody and care of certain records. The secretary of

state has custody of and shall carefully preserve in the division of state1-12
library and archives of the department of museums, library and arts or in2-1
his office all written contracts to which the state is a party, except those2-2
required to be deposited elsewhere. 239.040 Recording of contracts entered into by the state.2-4
1. After March 8, 1879, any officer, person or persons authorized by2-5
law to enter into any agreement or contract on behalf of this state shall2-6
have the same reduced to writing, and, after the signing of the same by the2-7
contracting parties, shall deliver the agreement or contract so reduced to2-8
writing, signed by the contracting parties, to the secretary of state.2-9
2. Immediately upon receiving the agreements or contracts mentioned2-10
in subsection 1, the secretary of state shall file and record the same in a2-11
book to be kept for that purpose, to be known as the agreement and2-12
contract book.~
