ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION—Directing the Legislative Commission to
conduct an interim study of residential facilities for elderly persons.

Whereas, Elderly persons living on fixed incomes compose a1-2
significant portion of the population of the State of Nevada; and1-3
Whereas, Many elderly persons cannot afford or are not able to1-4
maintain a private home and must seek living arrangements in residential1-5
facilities for groups; and1-6
Whereas, Additional information is required to ensure that elderly1-7
persons living in residential facilities for groups are treated with respect1-8
and provided with the appropriate care required to maintain their health1-9
and self-respect; now, therefore, be it1-10
Resolved by the Assembly of the State of Nevada, the Senate1-11
Concurring, That the Legislative Commission is hereby directed to1-12
conduct an interim study concerning the quality of care provided to elderly1-13
persons living in residential facilities for groups; and be it further1-14
Resolved, That the Legislative Commission shall appoint a1-15
subcommittee to conduct the study which must include an analysis of:1-16
1. The regulations imposed on residential facilities for groups that1-17
provide housing for elderly persons;1-18
2. The fees charged at such facilities;1-19
3. The information disclosed to elderly persons or their families1-20
relating to the care to be provided; and2-1
4. The special provisions, if any, that are provided for elderly persons2-2
suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease; and be it further2-3
Resolved, That any recommended legislation proposed by the2-4
subcommittee must be approved by a majority of the members of the2-5
Senate and a majority of the members of the Assembly appointed to the2-6
subcommittee; and be it further2-7
Resolved, That the Legislative Commission shall submit a report of its2-8
findings and any recommendations for legislation to the 71st session of the2-9
Nevada Legislature.~
