ASSEMBLY JOINT RESOLUTIONProposing to amend the Constitution of the State of

Nevada to require each regular session of the Legislature to commence on the first Monday in

March.

1-1 Resolved by the Assembly and Senate of the State of Nevada,

1-2 Jointly, That section 2 of article 4 of the Constitution of the State of

1-3 Nevada be amended to read as follows:

1-4 Sec. 2. 1. The sessions of the Legislature shall be biennial, and shall

1-5 commence on the 1st Monday of [February] March following the election

1-6 of members of the Assembly, unless the Governor of the State shall, in the

1-7 interim, convene the Legislature by proclamation.

1-8 2. The Legislature shall adjourn sine die each regular session not later

1-9 than midnight Pacific standard time 120 calendar days following its

1-10 commencement. Any legislative action taken after midnight Pacific

1-11 standard time on the 120th calendar day is void, unless the legislative

1-12 action is conducted during a special session convened by the Governor.

1-13 3. The Governor shall submit the proposed executive budget to the

1-14 Legislature not later than 14 calendar days before the commencement of

1-15 each regular session.
