Amend section 1, page 1, by deleting lines 6 through 13 and inserting:

Amend section 1, page 2, by deleting lines 27 and 28 and inserting:

Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, at the end of the biweekly pay period immediately following January 1 and July 1 of each year, an employee who has not used more than 10 hours of".Amend section 1, page 2, line 34, after "
leave." by inserting:"
The provisions of this subsection do not apply to employees who are subject to the provisions of NRS 284.148.".Amend the bill as a whole by renumbering sec. 2 as sec. 3 and adding a new section designated sec. 2, following section 1, to read as follows:
"Sec. 2. Any unused sick leave accrued by an employee who is in the public service on July 1, 1999, that was not carried forward by the employee because of the limitation set forth in subsection 1 of NRS 284.355, but was placed in a separate account pursuant to NAC 284.546, must be transferred to the account of the employee on July 1, 1999.".
Amend the title of the bill, second line, after "circumstances;" by inserting:
"
removing the limitation on the amount of unused sick leave a state employee is entitled to carry forward from year to year; increasing the amount that a retiring employee may be paid for his unused sick leave;".
