Amend the resolution, page 2, line 27, by deleting:

"of long-term care in the" and inserting:

"of:

2. Medicaid managed care programs, including, without limitation, the child health assurance program established pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1396a(a)(10)(A)(i)(IV), (VI) and (VII),

Amend the resolution, page 2, line 33, by deleting "(a)" and inserting "(1)".

2. The following issues relating to Medicaid managed care programs:

(a) The quality of health care services provided by Medicaid managed care programs;

(b) Whether pharmaceutical products are provided in a timely manner to participants of Medicaid managed care programs;

(c) Whether providers of health care are available within the geographic area of the participants;

(d) Whether participants have adequate access to health care specialists;

(e) The manner in which the Medicaid managed care programs resolve complaints of participants; and

(f) Any other matter related to the adequacy of the services provided by Medicaid managed care programs, as deemed necessary by the subcommittee; and be it further

Resolved, That the subcommittee shall review and evaluate the impact of Medicaid managed care programs upon:

1. Recipients of temporary assistance for needy families as defined in NRS 422.0535; and

2. Essential community providers; and be it further

Resolved, That the subcommittee shall define "essential community provider" for the purposes of the issues in the study relating to Medicaid managed care programs; and be it further".

Amend the preamble of the resolution, page 1, by deleting lines 1 through 6 and inserting:

"Whereas, Access to quality, affordable health care services is vitally important to the health and well being of the citizens of this state; and

Whereas, Long-term care and Medicaid managed care programs are two types of health care services that are particularly important in this state because of the large number of citizens who participate in such programs; and

Whereas, The State of Nevada has recently experienced an unprecedented growth in population that has increased the demand for health care services, including long-term care and Medicaid managed care programs; and

Whereas, Much of this unprecedented growth in population is attributable to persons who are 65 years of age or older, who generally have the highest incidence of chronic illness and the greatest need for long-term care, moving to this state to retire, and".

Amend the preamble of the resolution, page 2, line 24, by deleting:

"now, therefore, be it" and inserting:

"and

Whereas, The growing number of persons who participate in Medicaid managed care programs makes it important to determine the quality of health care services provided to participants of such programs and to determine the impact of such programs upon essential community providers; now, therefore, be it".

Amend the title of the resolution, second line, by deleting "care." and inserting:

"care and Medicaid managed care programs.".

Amend the summary of the resolution, second line, by deleting "care." and inserting:

"care and Medicaid managed care programs.".
