AN ACT making an appropriation to the Clark County School District for clerical resources to track and report irregularities of the attendance and truancy of pupils; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2 fund to the Clark County School District for clerical resources to assist in

1-3 tracking and reporting irregularities in the attendance and truancy of pupils:

1-4 For the fiscal year 1999-2000 $2,769,452

1-5 For the fiscal year 2000-2001 $2,769,452

1-6 2. The sums appropriated by subsection 1 must be used only to pay for

1-7 the salaries and benefits of the clerical and support staff who are hired by

1-8 the Clark County School District to assist schools within the Clark County

1-9 School District with tracking and reporting irregularities in the attendance

1-10 and truancy of pupils for purposes of NRS 385.347, 392.130, 392.140 and

1-11 392.142.

2-1 3. The sums appropriated by subsection 1 are available for either fiscal

2-2 year. Any balance remaining of those sums must not be committed for

2-3 expenditure after June 30, 2001, and reverts to the state general fund as

2-4 soon as all payments of money committed have been made.

2-5 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
