AN ACT relating to counties; requiring certain counties to establish requirements for the maintenance of records relating to users of paging equipment; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. Chapter 244 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a

1-2 new section to read as follows:

1-3 1. The board of county commissioners of a county whose population

1-4 is 400,000 or more shall enact an ordinance requiring the customer of a

1-5 public utility who is provided with paging equipment and subleases or

1-6 otherwise makes the equipment available for use by another person in

1-7 that county to maintain such records of the names and addresses of the

1-8 person to whom the equipment is so provided as the board deems

1-9 necessary.

1-10 2. The ordinance must include:

1-11 (a) The information that must be included in the records required to

1-12 be maintained; and

1-13 (b) The length of time the records must be maintained by the customer

1-14 of the public utility.

2-1 3. As used in this section, "public utility" has the meaning ascribed

2-2 to it in NRS 704.020.
