AN ACT making an appropriation to Clark County for the erection of directional signs to provide for certain U-turns on West Desert Inn Road; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-2 Clark County the sum of $150,000 for the erection of directional signs on

1-3 West Desert Inn Road.

1-4 Sec. 2. 1. The board of county commissioners of Clark County shall,

1-5 as soon as practicable, take all actions necessary to cause appropriate

1-6 directional signs to be erected to clearly mark the openings or crossing

1-7 places on West Desert Inn Road, approximately 660 feet east of Valley

1-8 View Boulevard, in Las Vegas, sufficient to allow both eastbound and

1-9 westbound vehicles on West Desert Inn Road to make a U-turn safely at

1-10 that location.

1-11 2. As used in this section, "U-turn" has the meaning ascribed to it in

1-12 NRS 484.216.

1-13 Sec. 3. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 1

1-14 of this act must not be committed for expenditure after the signage is

1-15 completed or on July 1, 2000, whichever is earlier, and reverts to the state

1-16 general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have been made.

2-1 Sec. 4. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
