AN ACT relating to the department of motor vehicles and public safety; imposing an additional fee under certain circumstances for the issuance by the department of a certificate of title or duplicate certificate of title for which priority processing is requested; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. NRS 482.429 is hereby amended to read as follows:

1-2 482.429 1. For its services under this chapter, the department shall

1-3 charge and collect [the following fees:] :

1-4 (a) For each certificate of title issued for a vehicle present or registered

1-5 in this state , a fee of $20 .

1-6 (b) For each duplicate certificate of title issued [20] , a fee of $20.

1-7 (c) For each certificate of title issued for a vehicle not present in or

1-8 registered in this state [35] , a fee of $35.

1-9 2. In addition to the appropriate fee required by subsection 1, the

1-10 department shall charge and collect for the issuance of each certificate of

1-11 title or duplicate certificate of title for which priority processing is

2-1 requested, a fee of $15, except that no additional fee may be charged

2-2 pursuant to this subsection unless the priority processing is completed by

2-3 the department within 3 business days after receiving the request.
