THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. NRS 482.266 is hereby amended to read as follows: 482.266 1.1-3
the request of a person who applies for the registration or renewal of the1-4
registration of a vehicle that has motor vehicle license plates which were1-5
issued before January 1, 1982, and delivery to the department of the1-6
license plates, the department shall1-7
plates for a fee not to exceed the actual cost of the1-8
remanufacturing.1-9
2. License plates delivered to the department for remanufacturing1-10
must be reproduced using the number and letter dies and other1-11
equipment then being used by the department to produce new license1-12
plates and must be stamped in an embossed style. The department may1-13
reject a request for the remanufacturing of a license plate that has1-14
numbers or letters displayed in a manner that cannot be duplicated using1-15
such dies and equipment.2-1
3. If a motor vehicle license plate that was issued before January 1,2-2
1982, is delivered to the department for2-3
the person who applies for the registration or renewal of registration of the2-4
vehicle shall display on the vehicle a temporary permit which must be2-5
affixed to the vehicle in a form, manner and position determined by the2-6
department.2-7
Sec. 2. This act becomes effective at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2001.~
