AN ACT relating to the department of transportation; requiring that hearings by the department concerning certain grievances of employees be held in the highway district in which the act that is the subject of the grievance occurred; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. Chapter 408 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a

1-2 new section to read as follows:

1-3 1. If the department holds a hearing concerning a grievance of an

1-4 employee that is subject to adjustment pursuant to NRS 284.384, it shall

1-5 hold the hearing in the highway district of this state in which the act,

1-6 omission or occurrence that is the subject of the grievance occurred.

1-7 2. As used in this section, "grievance" has the meaning ascribed to it

1-8 in NRS 284.384.

1-9 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective on July 1, 1999.
