AN ACT making supplemental appropriations to the Department of Museums, Library and Arts for the administration of the Department, to offset unanticipated shortfalls in the revenue from admissions at certain museums and for additional utility expenses; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general

1-2 fund to the Department of Museums, Library and Arts the sum of $1,550

1-3 for additional anticipated expenses for the administration of the

1-4 Department. This appropriation is supplemental to that made by section 18

1-5 of chapter 244, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page 856.

1-6 2. Any remaining balance of the supplemental appropriation made by

1-7 subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 1999,

1-8 and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

1-9 committed have been made.

1-10 Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

1-11 the Department of Museums, Library and Arts the sum of $10,000 to offset

1-12 the unanticipated shortfall in the revenue from admissions at the Nevada

1-13 Museum and Historical Society in Las Vegas. This appropriation is

2-1 supplemental to that made by section 18 of chapter 244, Statutes of Nevada

2-2 1997, at page 856.

2-3 2. Any remaining balance of the supplemental appropriation made by

2-4 subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 1999,

2-5 and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

2-6 committed have been made.

2-7 Sec. 3. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

2-8 the Department of Museums, Library and Arts the sum of $8,769 to offset

2-9 the unanticipated shortfall in the revenue from admissions at the Nevada

2-10 State Railroad Museum in Carson City and for additional utility expenses at

2-11 that museum. This appropriation is supplemental to that made by section 18

2-12 of chapter 244, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page 856.

2-13 2. Any remaining balance of the supplemental appropriation made by

2-14 subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 1999,

2-15 and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

2-16 committed have been made.

2-17 Sec. 4. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general fund to

2-18 the Department of Museums, Library and Arts the sum of $15,145 for

2-19 additional utility expenses at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City.

2-20 This appropriation is supplemental to that made by section 18 of chapter

2-21 244, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page 856.

2-22 2. Any remaining balance of the supplemental appropriation made by

2-23 subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 1999,

2-24 and reverts to the state general fund as soon as all payments of money

2-25 committed have been made.

2-26 Sec. 5. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
