THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 370, Statutes of Nevada 1997, at page1-2
1315, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state1-4
highway fund to the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public1-5
Safety the sum of $14,102,711 for the cost of completing Phase II1-6
of the Implementation Plan for the Business Process Re-1-7
Engineering Project through implementation of the integrated1-8
registration and drivers’ license data base at a full-service facility,1-9
as described in the Project Genesis Business Process Re-1-10
Engineering Report, dated May 15, 1996.2-1
2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by2-2
subsection 1 must not be committed for expenditure after June 30,2-3

payments of money committed have been made.2-5
Sec. 2. There is hereby appropriated from the state highway fund to2-6
the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety the sum of $7,707,9932-7
for the implementation of Phase II of Project Genesis and related enabling2-8
technologies.2-9
Sec. 3. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by section 22-10
of this act must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and2-11
reverts to the state highway fund as soon as all payments of money2-12
committed have been made.2-13
Sec. 4. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.~
