AN ACT relating to gates that provide access for vehicular traffic; requiring that certain gates comply with certain safety standards; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

1-1 Section 1. Chapter 405 of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a

1-2 new section to read as follows:

1-3 A gate that:

1-4 1. Operates by electrical power;

1-5 2. Provides access for vehicular traffic; and

1-6 3. Is installed on or after March 1, 2000,

1-7 must comply with the requirements of the Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

1-8 Standard for Safety 325, as published on September 18, 1998, and

1-9 effective on March 1, 2000.

1-10 Sec. 2. This act becomes effective on March 1, 2000.
