CHAPTER........
AN ACT relating to state financial administration; making an appropriation to the National
College of Juvenile and Family Law; requiring the transfer of money from the fund
for the National College and Family Law to the state general fund; authorizing the
return of the money transferred from the fund under certain circumstances; and
providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the state general
fund to the National College of Juvenile and Family Law the sum of
$303,600 to assist in securing public and private grants and other funding
for support during the 1999-2001 biennium.
2. Any remaining balance of the appropriation made by subsection 1
must not be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2001, and reverts to
the state general fund as soon as all payments of money committed have
been made.
Sec. 2. On June 30, 1999, the state controller shall transfer the sum of
$2,500,000 from the fund for the National College of Juvenile and Family
Law, created by NRS 1.480, to the state general fund.
Sec. 3. On or after July 1, 2001, the State Board of Examiners may
recommend to the Interim Finance Committee that the money transferred to
the state general fund pursuant to section 2 of this act be repaid to the fund
for the National College of Juvenile and Family Law if the Clerk of the
State Board of Examiners finds that sufficient money exists from the
appropriate revenue sources to effect the repayment. Upon approval of the
Interim Finance Committee, the money may be so transferred. The money
transferred pursuant to this section is hereby appropriated to the fund.
Sec. 4. This act becomes effective upon passage and approval.
